Eleven choristers from St. Luke's attended and enjoyed the Winter Tune-Up Workshop with Jim Sparks at St. Dunstan's Church on February 8th. The workshop included tools to unlock, expand, and develop free and flexible vocal tone and expression.
In the first session, Jim ‘drilled’ a fun and interactive series of skills for choral singing. In the second session, we ‘test-drove’ these skills on these two pieces: “Yemaya Asesu” arr. Brian Tate and “The Ground” from the Sunrise Mass by Ola Gjeilo.
The choristers enjoyed learning new warm-ups and making music with the more than 70 other enthusiastic singers.
