Two of the three Last Post Markers we applied for were installed on December 1st. The two markers were for Jack Halton and Constance Thompson.
Thanks to Gillian Klassen for all her work to send in the paperwork to apply for these markers.
We expect the third marker, for John Priest, to be installed early next year.
The Unmarked Grave Program of the Last Post Fund of Veterans Affairs provides military markers for unmarked veterans’ graves. Cemeteries and individuals can apply to this fund for a marker if a veteran’s grave is unmarked.
A Last Post Fund marker was installed 2 years ago to honour James Stewart Simpson.
