We are pleased to announce that the Shelbourne Community Kitchen has partnered with Topsoil Urban Agriculture and St. Luke’s to create a container garden at St. Luke's. This new garden site will be 70′ x 35′ and will use Topsoil’s innovative urban agriculture model to grow efficiently and effectively in geo-textile containers.
Food grown in this garden will provide much needed fresh, seasonal produce for the Kitchen's Pantry and Food Skills programs that serve over 850 individuals and their families. The garden will be installed in July. This project is generously funded by the Provincial Employees Community Services Fund and the Rotary Club Victoria Harbourside. A thank you from the Shelbourne Community Kitchen to their funders and partners for making this exciting new project possible.
See map below for the location of the container garden.
Stay tuned for updates as construction, planting and harvests begin!
