Sharing in holiday traditions brings friends and family together and helps to make the season bright, but they aren’t always possible for those who live on a low income. So how can we help?
For the past three years, December has become one big family gathering at the Shelbourne Community Kitchen. Our gardeners host wreath making days, kitchen leads organize delicious baking sessions and cookie exchanges, and our canners cook up special recipes that make great gifts.
We share hot cocoa and cider, and have a holiday card station available too so participants can send a note to loved ones (free stamps provided). We offer a warm, welcoming space where our participants can celebrate the season with us and share.
Open the poster below to see how you can help by donating items, taking part in a cookie exchange, or by purchasing preserves, jams, and wreathes to light up your Christmas or to give as gifts.
