The youth of St. Luke’s are hosting a special fundraising event during the month of February in support of our local Shelbourne Community Kitchen.
The youth want to build a mountain of non-perishable food in St. Luke’s Church, by the font, and call this the “Mountain of Love”.
It is a well-known fact that after Christmas, the donations to food banks drop significantly, but the need for them does not.
We will continue this project until Sunday March 9th, so our Fantastic Friday families can view the Mountain of Love on March 7th.
The youth are asking all those outside groups who use the facilities of St. Luke’s to take part, as well as asking you to reach out to your neighbours and friends to give to this special event. Please help support the Shelbourne Community Kitchen with a generous donation of food or money.
In 2024 the Shelbourne Community Kitchen distributed 75,675 lbs of food; prepared 1,896 meals, grew 10,838 lbs of fresh food; they served 1,603 adults, 689 children and have over 200 volunteers. The need is here in our community.
If you have any questions, need any donations collected, or want to donate cash, please contact the Church Office at 250-477-6741.
Thank you from all the youth at St. Luke’s.
