Thank You to the Cemetery Cleanup Volunteers
Thank you to the volunteers who came out for the Cemetery Cleanup on Saturday, October 26th. It was a beautiful day and we got a lot done! Last week our groundskeeper, Nathan Karchner, cleaned up the large branch from the sumac tree which had fallen down the previous week's windstorm. There's always lots of work to do to maintain the cemetery! For more infomation visit: http://stlukesvictoria.ca/news/thank-you-to-the-cemetery-cleanup-volunteers--919

Veterans' List Has Been Updated
The Veterans' List at St. Luke's website has been recently updated. A volunteer, who has been cleaning markers, has found 22 more WWI veterans. Their names have now been added to our veterans' list, bringing the total to 183 veterans. We expect there could more as we do more research. The list can be found at the Veterans in St. Luke's Cemetery page: https://www.stlukesvictoria.ca/our-community/st-lukes-historic-cemetery/pages/veterans-in-st-lukes-cemetery. Or you can go directly to the list at this link, where you can check if your relative's name is on the list. Clicking on the More Information link at the end of each line will take you to other information we have on that veteran such as attestation papers or other web links. If you would like to add the name of a relative or friend who is a veteran whose name isn't on the list or send further information about the veteran, please contact Barb Prescott by e-mail, or St. Luke's Office by e-mail, or phone 250-477-6741. We are always happy to receive further information to add to our records. |
