Pastoral visits are made almost every week to hospital patients and to those in their own homes or nursing homes who find it difficult or impossible to attend church.
The pastoral care team is always made welcome and they try to spend one to two hours with each person. Parishioners are always interested to know about what is happening at St. Luke’s and the parish events.
As well as the pastoral visiting team, Rev. Don Walls, Associate Priest at St. Luke's, provides pastoral visits to parishioners two afternoons a week. He visits parishioners who are no longer able to attend church as well as older parishioners who still attend church. He comments,
“Some elderly parishioners are no longer able to be as active in the parish as they once were, but their stories of their parish work give a living history of our past and our development over many years. I have learned about life stories and how our people live out their faith. It has given me a sense of our parish community which is an active, compassionate community.”
